Skye Amato: The Multitasker
Well hello there! My name is Skye, and this is just a fragment of everything that makes up who I am. I am a Videographer, a Photographer, an Artist and I also make and decorate cakes in between. I've always had a passion for film making, as well as photography. Something about it just fills my heart with joy. Those closest to me will tell you that I can bake one hell of a cake, and make it look so pretty that you'll want to freeze it forever. Everything that I write, produce, photograph and bake I put my entire heart and soul in to.
I am just starting my journey, as I am only 21 years old. My heart lies in the eyes of a cat (or 6). I've rescued them since I was 12, and my cat lady soul is alive and well to this day. They say if you want to know where someone heart is, look at what they photograph, and by god is that true. I'd give it all for my little furry children, no matter what. When I was 15 I thought I had it all together, and then I met Joseph. He's the better half of me (he also photographs really well, so you'll be seeing a lot of him on here and on my social media). Joseph has been my rock for the last five years, and he's also my biggest fan. Thanks to him I feel I can accomplish anything I set my mind too, which drove me to start up Phokus Imagery, a place where I can be me and fall in love all over again with my passion, along with Cakes By Slice and Pounded Co where I can show some of my artistic ability to the world.
I have been a filmmaker for a little over six years to date, and I have to thank my alma mater Nature Coast Technical High School, and my inspiration, Ian Wald, for all that I know and all that I am going to do in the future. Thanks to Mr. Wald, I am a certified Adobe Associate in Premiere Pro CS6 as of 2013. I am also four years experienced as well as listed on IMDB for a short film I took part in called Date Night in 2012. I cannot thank Ian enough for all that he's done to push me forward with what I want to accomplish in the next few years, and for always having my back when I need help.
Photography is something I picked up on about two years ago after purchasing my first DSLR. Photography is such a beautiful way to express your emotions, sad, happy and everything in between. This was the fuel to my fire that pushed me to jump into photographing people, animals, and places. I specialize in photographing precious moments (weddings, graduations, etc) but I will photograph outside of my comfort zone and I am hoping you'll ask me to do so.
My favorite part of taking all of this on is the friendships I hope to make, as well as the happiness I get to see in the people who trust me with their important chapters of life. Lets be friends! Contact me about a shoot, a cake, or even just to talk! Thanks for reading!
xoxo, Skye Amato
